Internationally known as a Mecca for art collectors, Scottsdale is home to over 100
galleries. the Scottsdale Gallery Association was formed by professional art dealers to
promote these fine art galleries. Dedicated to exhibiting the finest visual art from all over
the world, the galleries offer a dazzling and diverse array of work in a wide variety of
media. The SGA members strive to make art accessible to all, from the serious art
collector to the casual art appreciator. By funding arts projects in local schools, the SGA
has become and important partner in the education of our community's youth.
The Scottsdale Art Walk is a feature unique to Scottsdale in its scope and longevity, held
year-round every Thursday evening 7 to 9 pm. On any given Thursday galleries host
special exhibits with artists' receptions and demonstrations.
On an irregular basis, usually in the cooler months, we get together for a wander around
the galleries, admiring the art and hoovering up the free food and drinks. For those
interested, there is usually a meet for dinner first.
