Wed Apr 10th Informal SOC Meeting at Nello's Pizza at McClintock and Southern in Tempe, 6:30 p.m. Contact Ed for details. Ed

Apr 17th Bike to Work Day. The city of Tempe will be celebrating Bike Month 2013 with freebies for bicyclists from participating locations from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. You can find further details at this link: Bike Month. Contact Ed if you have any more questions. Ed

Apr 27th Pool Party. Wayne will be hosting a pool party at his house in Ahwatukee beginning at 2 p.m. Contact Wayne for details or to RSVP. Wayne

2013 SOC Meetings. We are currently looking for a new location or locations for SOC meetings for 2013. We will announce meeting locations and times as soon as plans are made. Ed

ONGOING EVENTS

Week Day Hikes Day Hiking During the week. Every Tuesday morning and occasional Thursdays. For those Day Hikers who may have a day off during the week or who are retired or otherwise available to hike during the work week. Contact David or Charlie to hike with the "Idle Aristocracy" of the SOC. David or Charlie

Canoeing & Kayaking Floating the Salt. Ed wants to float the Lower Salt on the weekends if there is any interest and sufficient water flow. Tube, kayak or canoe. Contact Ed if you're interested. You now need to purchase a Tonto Daily Pass ahead of time to park your vehicle at the river. See a description of the Tonto Pass at Passes & Permits. Please note that you do NOT need to purchase a separate watercraft sticker for a kayak or canoe. Purchase permits online at Tonto Passes or find a vendor near you to purchase the permit at Vendors. Vendors selling the permit should have a Tonto Pass sign in their front window. Ed

Occasional Thursdays. Scottsdale Art Walks. Occasionally meet at 7:00 PM in Old Town Scottsdale for a stroll around the galleries, enjoying the exhibits and goodies laid out. Ed, (480) 921-3821.
